Tanning salons have become popular tanning options among many who would like the tanned look. Their convenience and easy usage has made them accessible to even the moderately well off who believe that the tanned look is attractive.
But just how safe are tanning beds to use for tanning.
In a recent law the use of sun tanning beds has been outlawed for those below the age of 16 in California because of the evidence that using the sunbeds has increased the prevalence of skin cancer.
There has been no response from the tanning salons or tanning bed manufacturers but it is a little concerning that the tanning beds have been blamed for the increase in skin cancer and not the fashionable trend of baring all to the californian sun.
When looking at the appeal of a tanning salon such as the one in the image it does seem more convenient than other natural options but then convenience may not be the best thing for us.
So give some thought to using a tanning salon in the future and at least make sure that the equipment is up to code and that the safety code for effective tanning is in place and adhered to.
